UFOs & conspiracies

Admittedly, the subject of advanced (particularly interstellar-capable) propulsion easily provokes questions like "Did already someone else do it?" or "Can somebody else visit us using this technology". Unfortunately, there are good reasons not to get entangled in such discussions:

  1. In the last 50 years, since the first UFO observations found their way into mainstream, no evidence whatosever is known to exist, at least in facilities that are accessible to scientific enquiry.
  2. The climate surrounding the UFO issue is massively polluted. For reasons that I do not understand, countless obvious hoaxes have been released into the public, with government agencies debunking them quickly afterwards. I cannot avoid having the impression that this onslaught of trash may have been part of a disinformation campaign to hide something really serious. Anyway, people are fed up with yet anoter UFO story.
The sad consequence is that anyoune who talks about UFOs will be immediately consigned to the crackpot league. Therefore, this site is not made for UFOlogists and I will not discuss any UFO issues beyond this point.
By the way: can't you imagine, that trying to develop propulsion technologies by ourselves may yield a much better insight into the possibility of interstellar travel and alien visitors than repeatedly staring at blurred saucer photos? Just think about it!

Science fiction

In a certain sense, this site is science fiction because none of the technologies that are discussed here do exist yet. Apart from this, many science fiction novels and/or movies are at least partially based on scientific facts and discuss an extrapolation of these facts. However, science fiction lives from stories, plots and scenarios and this site will not be about such things. Although the term warp drive is often linked paticularly to the popular Star Trek TV series and motion pictures and even I have referred to it here, I want to make clear that this project is about developing a real technology and not about plain fiction.

"Paranormal" activities

Simply spoken, the prefix "para" stands for wannabe - parascience is therefore wannabe science: it is not intended to withstand the application of scientific reason. This site is therefore not about things on which scientific methods cannot be applied, including religious issues. If you are looking for PSI phenomena, psychokinesis, telepathy and similar stuff, you are wrong here.

Space colonization hubris

Tools make processes, do you remember? It does not make sense to discuss scenarios that are not feasible using current technology and may even turn out to be plain nonsense once warp drive technology is available. The discussion of space colonization scenarios will only lead to useless political discussions that lack any solid basis. Once we know how to use and build this technology, we will be able to tell what is possible and what not. Predictions are hard, especially when they are directed into the future, so don't bother me with things like earth evacuation plans, multi-generation ships and extraterrestrial colonies, thank you!
